I have the honour most respectfully
to place this my memorial before you for your
favourable consideration.
1. As Auditor of this Colony I am called upon
to make an annual tour of inspection to Weihaiwei
for the purpose of examining the Accounts of that
Colony. This inspection is undertaken during the
months of July and August, and occupies roughly
two months including passages.
2.
This being my 2nd year and 3rd Summer of
this term of service I was entitled under the
Colonial Regulations to 3 months vacation leave.
This leave I had applied for and had had granted
me, on the understanding that I awaited Mr. Brayn's
return from leave on the 24th. May.
3. In view of the facts mentioned in paras
1 and 2, and being a married man with a young
family I had engaged a furnished house in Weihaiwei
P.C., M.P., etc. etc.
